You can create a visual feast using your favorite natural spreads, nuts, and dried fruits. Whenever you crave something sweet, you can turn dates into a wonderful and healthy, fit treat. Let's get to the recipe for these Date Bites that go well with coffee, tea, and all kinds of drinks.
Why Do I Recommend These Healthy Date Bites?
Because they are both very simple and very healthy. A perfect low-calorie recipe that requires no baking and is ready in 10 minutes. I want to highlight the benefits of dates, the star of this recipe, and as you know, I love sharing the benefits of the ingredients I use in each recipe. Dates are a natural fruit high in fiber and rich in minerals. The combination of dates and dark chocolate is even more wonderful; it's a powerful antioxidant and rich in healthy fats. As with most of my recipes, this one satisfies sweet cravings in a healthy way and balances blood sugar properly. The dark chocolate I pour over my date bites coats and envelops the dates, revealing their smooth, natural appearance. You can create a feast by combining not only dates but also sliced fruits and their dark chocolate. I used dark chocolate in this recipe because it has a low sugar content; you can use any type of chocolate you like, such as white chocolate, etc.As you can see in the second photo, my date-flavored Date Bites , topped with sesame seeds and pistachios, only contains banana puree inside.
Ingredients for Healthy Date Bites
5-6 Dates (You can choose the amount of dates according to your preference.)
1 Package Dark Chocolate
1 Banana: Mashed.
Filling: Pistachio Butter - Peanut Butter (you can use your favorite type)
Toppings: Almond pieces
Pistachio pieces, Sesame seeds
Alternatively: You can use hazelnuts, coconut, raisins, pistachios, cashews.
Preparation Time for Healthy Date Bites
*Varies depending on the amount of dates, but it's a very easy recipe: generally 10 minutes
*Opening the dates: 2 minutes
*Preparing the sauce inside the dates, if you are melting chocolate: approximately 4-5 minutes
*The entire recipe takes 10 minutes in total.
How to Serve?
Serve with your favorite fruit slices alongside the date bites: Strawberries, Bananas, Avocados.
*You can sprinkle nuts and dried fruits on top or next to them: Hazelnuts, pistachios, raisins, dried apricots, walnuts, almonds, etc.
*As a sauce: melted dark chocolate sauce, tahini, molasses, etc.
How to Make Healthy Date Bites
1. First, boil some water to melt the dark chocolate. If you're using a kettle, place the bowl containing the chocolate on top of the kettle so it's directly above the steam. This is a very simple melting method for me, but if you have another easier way to melt chocolate, you can use that.
2. Open the desired amount of dates evenly. If the dates are very hard and you want a softer consistency, you can rinse them with a little hot water and set them aside. I didn't rinse my dates; I think they have a very nice consistency even when they're hard.
3. I add pistachio and peanut butter to the open dates using a spoon. You can use a dessert spoon here. You can add any natural spread you like this.
4. After filling them, you can now pour the melted dark chocolate over the dates. Immediately after pouring the dark chocolate over the dates, sprinkle the toppings such as almond pieces and coconut before the chocolate hardens. Your Date Bites is now ready. You can consume it as soon as the chocolate hardens, without waiting for it to cool in the refrigerator. Enjoy and stay healthy!
Date Bites with Banana Puree
1. Open the desired amount of dates. If the dates are hard, you can soak them in warm water for a while.
2. After opening the dates, you can mash the banana. You can add coconut powder or any other toppings you like, such as peanut butter, to the puree.
3. I place 1 teaspoon of banana puree inside each date.
4. After placing the banana puree, you can coat them with dark chocolate if you wish. I decorated mine with sesame seeds and pistachios.
5. Once our date bites are ready, you can enjoy them immediately. Bon appetit and stay healthy.
Things to note:
If the date puree with banana is kept in the refrigerator, the banana puree may darken. However, if you topped it with dark chocolate sauce, there should be no problem.
